The Business & Industry Solutions area at Florida State University works with private industry by benefiting from the assets and subject matter experts throughout campus. "Your front door to doing private sector research business with Florida State University Office of Research." The Business & Industry Liaison helps researchers, and the private sector come together for solutions and innovations. Doing business with a large university can be cumbersome, but the liaison takes the difficulty out of the equation. In fact, he is involved throughout every step of the relationship. Mr. Campbell serves as the business and industry liaison working with companies that can use Florida State University’s Office of Research resources and assets to provide solutions for their projects. These assets include the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP), High Performance Materials Institute (HPMI) and the Coastal & Marine Laboratory to name a few. He can also provide companies technical assistance when applying for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (SBIR/STTR) program.

Prior to joining FSU Office of Research, Mr. Campbell served as the Director of North Florida Operations for The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship for over 9 years where he assisted CEO’s and business owners to grow their companies. Mr. Campbell also has more than 18 years’ experience in the financial industry and is the former owner of two successful businesses. He is passionate for assisting companies in being successful which plays well in his role as Chief Business & Industry Liaison.

Michael helps companies connect with FSU Researchers to collaborate on the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) programs and has been specifically trained to help potential applicants.  He has grant writing expertise with a history of successful proposals, is a three-time entrepreneur, co-writer of The Virginia Entrepreneur’s Guide.
